What is a UMPC?

To start things off, let's go with, what is a UMPC exactly?

An ultra mobile pc, called a UMPC for short, is a design for a small form factor tablet PC in general. The original codename was called Project Origami which was kept hush hush by Microsoft, Samsung, and Intel to name a few of the key major contributors.

The main purpose of the UMPC is just that, ultra mobile computing. They are designed to let you work on a full featured PC environment on the go at a convenience that is largely due to it's portability, which is much smaller than a laptop, and for the most part, much lighter as well.

For the next series of posts, we will start discussing some of the UMPCs that are currently out in the market today.
